MFA Show 2015
Here, you can see Tropaion, 4th Place Gymnastics Trophy from 1999, and i whip my hair back and forth (the hair whip). The hair pins are not really visible from this far away...they're only a faint shadow from this distance.
My artist statement and business cards are on the far left wall. Read the statement on my blog.
The trophy from 1999 and the hair whip are installed on/ around a shelf made of reclaimed wood moulding. There is a hint of the hair-pin shadows around these three things.
Held at Fort Mason's Herbst Pavilion from May 13-17, 2015, I participated in San Francisco Art Institute's MFA show, Edge Effect. I know right?? What a crappy name for a show! Anyhoo, it was a really fun show and I was so proud of my classmates. There were 5 elements to my installation: 1) The painting, 2) The trophy, 3) The hair whip, 4) The faux-finish wood shelf, and 5) The hair-pin arrangement interacting with the architecture of the wall and with the painting and shelf. More details when you click on the slideshow!
